January 21, 2011 1 CommentOn January 19th, SMPS DC members gathered for a packed event entitled “Creating and Revamping a Marketing Plan” with guest speaker Liz Wainger, founder of the Wainger Group. The event was more than just a presentation though!

Liz covered all of the above and more for the 50+ attendees in her overview presentation. Participants then put their new knowledge to work in breakout groups immediately. The small working groups developed their own list of questions for a new hypothetical start-up firm to help get to the bottom of the firm’s unique value proposition and develop the basis for a future marketing plan.

Perfect timing for this event! We are about to do a company retreat at my firm that I will be using to formulate our first marketing plan. Liz gave some great tips on how to get started.
