2021-2022 SMPS DC Chapter Board of Directors Call for Nominations
Dear SMPS Washington, DC Members:
On behalf of the SMPS Washington, DC Chapter Nominations and Elections Committee, I invite your nominations for open positions on the 2021–2022 Chapter Board of Directors. This call for nominations is an opportunity for you to help select our chapter’s future leaders. We hope you will thoughtfully consider who you would like to champion the chapter’s efforts, and we invite you to nominate yourself or your peers.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors makes decisions regarding the chapter’s programs, financial health, community involvement, and priorities. Board members are expected to commit 10 to 15 hours each month to SMPS, primarily for committee meetings, monthly Board meetings, and chapter programs. Positions currently accepting nominations for the 2021–2022 SMPS DC Board include:
- President-Elect. This is a three-year commitment. To be eligible for this position, a member must have a minimum of one year of service on the Board.
- Treasurer. This is a two-year commitment. To be eligible for this position, a member must have served on the Board as a voting member.
- Director-at-Large. This is a two-year commitment that is associated with chairing a committee. To be eligible for this position, a member must be in good standing as of June 2021. Current Director-at-Large positions accepting nominations include:
- Career Advancement
- Community Outreach
- Membership
- Procurement

Nomination Process
As the current President-Elect, I chair the Nominations and Elections Committee and will be joined by our President, Jen McGovern, CPSM, and four other members with 2+ years of experience who represent the diversity and leadership of our chapter. The election of the new Board will be held in June 2021.
- Self-nominations are invited and encouraged
- Submit completed nomination forms to Kim Metzinger, CPSM, President-Elect and Nominations and Elections Committee Chair, at kmetzinger@eypae.com
- Nominations must be submitted by Friday, April 16, 2021
- Successful candidates will be notified upon determination, and the slate will be presented for chapter vote in June 2021
- All new Board member terms for the 2021–2022 program year will begin September 1, 2021
