DesignDC is the only regional educational conference co-sponsored by all three area chapters of the AIA. AIA staff and volunteers from DC, the Potomac Valley and Northern Virginia are partnering to bring a significant educational and networking opportunity together for area firms. DesignDC is quickly setting itself apart as THE must-attend regional conference for architects, designers, engineers, contractors and planners. The eighth annual DesignDC conference will occur September 25 - 27 at DC's Washington Convention Center and The District Architecture Center. So, what does that mean for us marketers?

Here are three reasons, you’ll want your firm in attendance:

3. Unparalleled Networking with Prospective Business Partners: In previous years the event has brought in over 700 architects, designers, engineers, contractors and planners. This year even more are expected at DesignDC 2013. Members of your firm will connect with a highly concentrated pool of potential partners to support your firm’s business development goals in the Metro area.

2. Brand Visibility: Attendance at such a targeted conference will boost your firm’s visibility in the local market, whether you are representing an A/E firm or a supplier. Register early and consider heightening that visibility by sponsoring or exhibiting, there is still time! (learn more here: http://www.aiadesigndc.net/exhibitors.html )

1. Recon: Whether it’s your firm’s first time attending, or you’ve been involved with DesignDC for years, the event is always a great way to get a barometer on the local market and ‘who is moving where’. Get involved to learn what subject matter experts your firm can bring to the table next year and learn what your colleagues are doing now that you can take back to the office.
