Upon entering our seventh CPSM Bootcamp for the Washington, DC chapter, the career advancement committee is full of excitement. The CPSM Bootcamp is aimed at AEC marketing professionals with more than four years of industry experience wanting to further their career. This year, 23 SMPS DC members are up to the challenge.

Our annual bootcamp is tailored to a variety of learning styles with a combination of online lunchtime webinars and in-person review sessions - there is something for everyone. This year, the career advancement committee added a 2017 Bootcamp Kick-Off, held January 18 at MGAC, where committee members walked participants through eligibility requirements, the application process and a sneak peek of study materials.

The CPSM examination is formed around six domains of practice: marketing research, marketing planning, client and business development, proposals, promotional activity and management. SMPS National has just released new materials around each of these domains in a comprehensive Markendium study series.

We look forward to helping our CPSM Bootcampers achieve their goal of earning their Certified Professional Services Marketer Certifications in 2017. Thank you to our CPSM volunteers for being involved in this important program: Laura Ewan, Pipper Moseley, Falynn Schmidt, Ashley Cullen, and Koren Stauffer. Special thanks to our amazing CPSM Bootcamp Coordinators Jen McGovern and Kim Metzinger.
