What’s the best part of fall? It’s not leaves or pumpkin spice or cozy scarves—it’s the SMPS DC Guru Guidance Program!

What is Guru Guidance?

Guru Guidance is a free, yearlong mentorship program that pairs SMPS DC chapter members with varying levels of experience, facilitating relationship building and mutually beneficial professional growth. Mentors and mentees meet one-on-one throughout the year, connect with other pairs through our secure Slack channel, and come together for a roundtable discussion in the spring.

How does it work?

Interested mentors and mentees fill out the application for this year’s program, and the Career Advancement Committee uses that information to match pairs. Mentors and mentees will be notified of their pairings via e-mail. Then our first event, to be held in November, will focus on setting expectations for involvement in the program and getting to know your mentor/mentee.

Who’s eligible?

Any member of the SMPS Washington DC chapter! We’re looking for people who want to learn (mentees) and people who want to share their knowledge (mentors). The more mentors we have, the more mentees we’ll be able to accommodate, so Gurus, please submit your applications today!

Sounds great! How do I get involved?

Fill out your application by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018. And please reach out to Koren Stauffer, CPSM (kstauffer@form-architects.com), Dayna Powderly (dpowderly@hitt-gc.com), Ronalle Hawkins, CPSM (info@taylorcgroup.com), or Jen McGovern, CPSM (jmcgovern@vhb.com) with any questions!
