On December 14th the SMPS DC Chapter will be holding their 2011 Holiday Party at the District Architecture Center (DAC). Located in the vibrant Penn Quarter neighborhood, the DAC is a new venture that is touted as the epicenter of Washington,DC, architecture as well as a place for both the public and the professional to celebrate architecture and design.

DAC-holiday.jpgThe DAC is a collaboration of the Washington Architectural Foundation (WAF) and its partner the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA|DC), and the center will foster a greater participation in city life for architects and the public. Design professionals, consumers, patrons, visitors, students and community leaders will use the new downtown location to learn about the latest cutting edge architecture in the city and the world, discover new techniques through multiple education classes that will change the way architects work, celebrate architecture, new and old, as it shapes our city and region and engage new audiences that will lead to a greater appreciation of Washington’s architectural heritage and future.
