Stacey Hardy_webStacey Hardy is the new Chapter Administrator for the DC Chapter of SMPS. Stacey is from New Rochelle, New York, which is about 25 miles north of New York City. Stacey comes to SMPS with 15 years of operational and programmatic experience in the nonprofit sector. In addition to her duties as Chapter Administrator, Stacey is also the full-time Director of Operations for the Medical Care for Children Partnership Foundation, an organization that funds healthcare for children of low-income families in Fairfax County. Stacey attended undergrad at the University of Maryland-College Park and also earned a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from UMUC.

What does your role entail?
As the Chapter Administrator, my role is to support the general operations of the Chapter, which involves providing support to chapter and committee members in terms of event management, supporting committees with getting e-blasts out, and supporting chairs in getting registrations processed and ready for events. I also provide customer service to members in the form of event registration follow-up emails and by supporting committee members with events, both pre and post. I also manage interactions with Cvent, which was a platform I was excited to learn as part of my role. I also got to attend the Board Strategic Planning Session in July.

What is your goal for this program year?
My goal for the program year is to work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure that the Chapter runs smoothly, efficiently, and effectively. The organization does great work and the organization of the committees and board is very impressive!

If you were not with SMPS DC, what would be your “Dream Job”?
I would be the bailiff on Judge Judy (love that show!). I would not wear that uniform though.

What would you consider your greatest achievement?
Personally – having the best husband and son on the planet! Professionally, my greatest accomplishment has been the successful execution of a contract with the US Air Force to increase the number of high-quality child care options for Air Force personnel in 13 states.

Describe yourself in three words: Enthusiastic, motivated, flexible.
Tell us something we would be surprised to learn about you. I am a Judge Judy fanatic (see “Dream Job” response above). The biggest treat for me is getting to watch a full episode before my son comes home from school. Simple pleasures :).

Thank you for the time. Any closing thoughts for our members?
I am very excited to join the SMPS DC team and I look forward to supporting our members throughout the year. I also want to encourage our members to take full advantage of SMPS DC’s benefits, services and opportunities. Have a great year!
