Let’s Get To It…..

What got you into the AEC industry and what keeps you here?

I started working at Sverdrup (now Jacobs) when I was in college and continued to work with them after I graduated. I have stayed in the AEC industry because of the relationships I have built, the people I continue to work with and the opportunities to advance my career.

When and why did you first join SMPS, and what keeps you coming back?

I first joined SMPS in 1993 and I have stayed a member because of my network, the opportunities to give back to SMPS and the numerous resources available to members.

What advice do you have for our newer SMPS DC members about getting the most out of their membership?

Get involved!! You will get so much more out of your SMPS membership if you get involved with a committee or volunteer to help a program.

What has been your favorite SMPS DC or SMPS event?

There are several events that standout, and it would be hard to pick one. The people I have met through SMPS – Murphy Tuomey, Diane Schachner, Ray Kogan, Allison Carney, Tara McCarthy, Vicki White are my favorite SMPS moments.

Do you have your CPSM? If so, why did you get it and how has it impacted your career?

No, I don’t have my CPSM.

What part of the SMPS mission to Advocate, Educate, and Connect most resonates with you and why?

Connect!!! I love connecting with people and getting to know them as well as making introductions and helping people expand their networks. Definitely Connect!!

What is your favorite SMPS DC memory?

Receiving the Golden Tuba; that was a very special moment for me.
