The DC Chapter Year End event June 15 was a wonderful evening to see industry friends and make new connections, celebrate a successful year of programs and events, introduce/vote in the 2011-2012 board of directors and present well-deserved chapter awards.

A special thanks from the Board goes not only to our award winners, but also to each and every member who volunteers, participates, supports and leads our chapter - the largest in all of SMPS! We are where we are – number one – in large part because of the generosity of time, energy, creativity, and spirit our members share with and dedicate to SMPS.

Recap of the Year End program:

Chapter president Alison Carney, CPSM, thanked the 2010-2011 SMPS DC Chapter Board and chapter administrator Jennifer Prevette, and presented each with a small token of appreciation.

President-elect Joe Monahan, CPSM, presented the 2011-2012 DC Chapter Board slate, followed by a unanimous vote of approval by membership.

Joe recognized the chapter’s CPSMs achieved over the past 12 months, and recognized and thanked CPSM Bootcamp co-champions Falynn Schmidt, CPSM, and Michelle Monnett.

Crystal Stowe of the Membership committee and Treasurer Kathleen Held presented college scholarships to three worthy recipients (the fourth could not join us).

Kathleen explained the chapter’s new Pay it Forward Grant (a full-ride to Build Business) and presented the grant to Falynn Schmidt.
