Education

Every architect or designer uses photography to present project concepts to prospective clients, show finished work on their websites, and submit projects to design competitions or magazines. Social media has become a rapid, widespread way to disseminate information, and it’s more important than ever that clients know how to use photography effectively and efficiently. Anice Hoachlander, and Allen Russ of Photographing Spaces are a D.C.‐based team dedicated to the art of photographing architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture. The world of digital photography is changing constantly: every month a new camera is announced or software is updated. To help sift through all the terms, formats, and data, these photographers offer architects and designers real‐world tips and techniques for documenting their own design projects or for working smarter with professional architectural photographers. About the Presenters

Anice Hoachlander, and Allen Russ of Photographing Spaces are a D.C.‐based team dedicated to the art of photographing architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture. They are proficient with all camera formats and use the many software applications and plug‐ins available to digital photographers. The world of digital photography is changing constantly: every month a new camera is announced or software is updated. To help sift through all the terms, formats, and data, these photographers offer architects and designers real‐world tips and techniques for documenting their own design projects or for working smarter with professional architectural photographers. Photographing Spaces is a division of Hoachlander Davis Photography. But who are we? Literally speaking, we’re [working] photographers. But we can best be described as a team. We’ve each got our own unique visions and obsessions and love to share what we know about photography with the design community. We want to inspire you to look at the different ways photography is used to educate and publicize all aspects of the built environment.
