This exciting series is designed to enhance leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills among marketing and business development professionals in beginning or mid-manager roles. Participants will learn how to identify and adapt their own personal leadership style, flex their communication muscle, build and preserve strategic business relationships, and create a call-to-action plan to implement what you’ve learned.

What You'll Learn

Who Should Attend? This program is designed to serve professionals with 5 to 10 years of industry experience who are new to leadership and management roles within their firm. Our sessions will explore critical challenges faced by emerging leaders and will incorporate educational resources such as assessment tools, relevant articles, and exercises that participants can bring back to their teams and firms.


Session Descriptions:
Seasoned AEC leaders and executive coaches will lead hands-on exercises and discussions designed to encourage self-reflection and critical thinking in an open, dynamic atmosphere. Each session in the series will build upon the last resulting in a complete assessment of the leadership development journey (including the predictive index assessment).

Joanna Hoffschneider

Founder

Background

Joanna Hoffschneider, ALEP, founded Resolute Consulting to combine her first career in teaching and training with her second in marketing and business development. Joanna has always enjoyed bringing order and focus to the business world around her, providing the space for people to leverage their strengths and expertise. A previous winner of SMPS DC's Golden Tuba Award, Joanna has a reputation for incisive analysis and respectful candor. She is known for her ability to hear the signal through the noise, pulling out relevant and impactful threads from the wealth of information provided by stakeholders. These skills benefit both individuals and organizations, applied at different scales. Organizational engagements are roughly divided into retainer-based engagements, providing strategic support and focus for organizational leadership, and special projects, addressing a specific identified need. Individual engagements include one-to-one coaching, customized for the individual but always specific and forward-facing, and group coaching, addressing themes through custom curricula.

Elizabeth Tuico

Principal, Rebel Road Creative

Background

Elizabeth Tuico is a veteran AEC marketing professional and movement motivator dedicated to yoga and Pilates. Under the creative umbrella of Rebel Road Creative, Elizabeth explores a variety of marketing, writing and teaching opportunities. For more than 25 years, Elizabeth has worked with architects, engineers and general contractors providing marketing, communications and business development services. Her past employers include SmithGroup and Clark Construction. In 2011, she began leading fitness classes, and trained with several renowned yoga masters. She also holds several certifications from Peak Pilates.

Amy Cuddy CPSM

Senior Associate, Marketing and Business Development

Background

Amy P. Cuddy, CPSM, is a Senior Associate and Director of Marketing Operations at Ayers Saint Gross, an employee-owned architecture and planning design firm focused on higher education. She is an active member of SMPS serving since 2009. Amy has shared her expertise by speaking at SMPS Build Business and Deltek Insight conferences. She has written for the Zweig Letter and Marketer on various marketing and business development topics. Amy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in digital communications from Lebanon Valley College and earned her CPSM certification in 2013. She recently served as the Director of Career Advancement and continues to support the CPSM certification program.

Heather Davis

Director, Change Management + Employee Experience

KGO

Background

Heather’s career is focused on the people operations of organizational change and development. In these roles, she develops employee engagement programs, drives organizational development enhancements, and leads efforts to improve and strengthen organizational cultures. Heather is the Director of KGO's Change Management + Employee Experience practice area and provides leadership and oversight for Change Management. Select clients include World Bank, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 2U, International Food Policy Research Institute, Vantage Data Centers and Fluence Energy.
