Community Outreach

Help the Community Outreach Committee give back to our local community by participating in our “Family Dinner” at The Children’s Inn at NIH. We will prepare and serve a themed dinner for approx. 50 sick children and their families currently staying at The Inn from around the globe. The Children’s Inn is a caring place to be – a place to relax with other families that are undergoing serious treatment. These “Family Dinners” allow the families to relax, while alleviating the worries of transportation, grocery shopping, and the hassle of preparing a meal after a long day of traveling or treatments. This is also an opportunity for them to meet, mingle and interact with other families who are also facing a serious illness. This is a rewarding opportunity for SMPS members to interact with the children and families and to see just how much something as small as a home cooked meal means to families in need while meeting fellow SMPS members.
