Community Outreach

Help the Community Outreach Committee give back to our local community by participating in our Family Dinner at The Children’s Inn at NIH. We will prepare and serve dinner and a themed activity for approximately 50 sick children and their families currently staying at The Inn from around the globe. The Children’s Inn provides temporary housing and support while children and their families receiving groundbreaking treatments at the NIH Building 10 Clinical Center. The Family Dinners allow the guests at The Inn to relax, while alleviating the worries of transportation, grocery shopping, and the hassle of preparing a meal after a long day of traveling or treatments. This is also an opportunity for them to meet, mingle, and interact with other families who are also facing a serious illness.

Join Us

This is a rewarding opportunity for SMPS members to interact with the children and families and to see just how much something as small as a home-cooked meal means to those in need while volunteering alongside fellow SMPS members.

Dinner starts at 6pm. You are welcome to assist with set up serving dinner, clean up, or all of the above). Any assistance is appreciated. Please allow time to get through security.

Parking: Please proceed to visitor entrance for security screening. You will need photo ID. After screening, follow signs to The Inn. Once you have arrived, go to the front desk for your parking pass.
