Wreaths Across America Clean-Up Volunteer Event

Arlington National Cemetery

Memorial Drive, Arlington, VA 22211

8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Community Outreach

Join SMPS DC as we support Wreaths Across America Clean-Up at Arlington National Cemetery. The wreath-laying event in December always draws a huge crowd, but the clean-up crowds are sparse. That’s why we’re enlisting the do-gooders that makeup SMPS DC to come together and help restore the grounds of one of the most well-known cemeteries in the US. Involve your friends and family in a rewarding opportunity to honor our servicemen, servicewomen, and their families. After clean-up, join the crew in Arlington for brunch!

What You'll Learn

Our group will gather at McClellan Arch at 8 AM for a quick briefing before the clean-up begins. Dress for the weather and bring a lawn rake, pole, or rope to help carry more wreaths. You will knock out a great workout early!

What to Bring:

  • Water
  • Snacks to hold you through brunch if you plan on attending
  • Weather appropriate clothing to keep you warm/dry
  • Gloves
  • Something to support carrying multiple wreaths per dumpster trip, like a stick, pole, rope, and/or rake.

We are organizing a brunch at 11AM in Arlington/Clarendon for our members and their guests to regroup and network following the event. Registrants will be contacted prior to clean-up with more details on brunch, as well as point of contact information for the day of the event.

This event is open to all ages. We encourage you to bring friends and family members to contribute to this great cause.
